Linux Remediation Engineer

• 12 month contract with a view to extend|Based in Sutherland Shire
• Experience in Linux-Based Operating Systems|AU Citizen
• Understanding of Essential Eight -Maturity Model | On site role

Our client is looking for Senior Linux Remediation Engineer who will be responsible for assessing Legacy Linux OS Instrument Computers with intent to remediate or decommission those systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess Legacy Linux OS Instrument Computers with intent to remediate or decommission those systems.
• Build replacement Linux OS Instrument Computers.
• Instruct and assist team members on building and supporting Linux Operating System computers.
• Work with the team to assess their requirements and develop effective solutions.
• Capture, software and hardware upgrade requirements of Legacy Linux OS Instrument Computers.
• Document all remediation efforts, author and publish build notes.
• Maintain Asset Management system records.
• Ensure all solutions comply with the Cyber Security Policies, based on Australian Signals Directorate’s “Essential Eight, Maturity Model”.

Key Skills Required:

• Demonstrated experience in a Level 2 or 3 Support capacity for Linux-Based Operating Systems.
• Extensive experience supporting computers with Linux-Based Operating Systems.
• Ability to decipher and resolve complex IT problems.
• Demonstrated experience with best security practices.
• Demonstrated experience with hardware rollout efforts and projects.
• Experience with unique hardware peripherals and/or scientific and medical instrumentation.
• Cisco CCNA Accreditation, or better, in Cybersecurity and/or Enterprise,
• Experience supporting complex computer networks.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team to achieve project objectives.
