About the Role

Our client is seeking a Project Manager – Risk and Compliance who will lead the delivery of strategic initiatives that strengthen governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support customer wellbeing. This role works across Risk, Legal & Compliance, and Operations to drive change across people, processes, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define scope, strategy, and governance for risk and compliance projects
  • Collaborate with business sponsors, stakeholders, and SMEs to develop delivery plans
  • Implement internal controls, monitoring frameworks, and remediation strategies
  • Deliver business readiness through policy, procedure, and training improvements
  • Establish governance structures and provide reporting to executive and board forums
  • Manage cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives within budget and timeline
  • Track delivery risks and issues using structured risk management frameworks
  • Oversee CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, resource planning, and change management

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of APRA, ASIC, and financial services regulatory frameworks
  • Proven experience delivering complex regulatory reform and risk initiatives
  • Experience implementing GRC systems and internal controls
  • Experience in fintech or insurance sectors
  • Experience managing projects involving prudential standards and compliance risk
  • Familiarity with CPS 230, FAR, risk controls and service provider management
  • Experience delivering large-scale transformation initiatives in general insurance
  • Project management certification(s)
  • Familiarity with IT technologies, Agile/Waterfall delivery, and change management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills
  • Experience with JIRA and blended onshore/offshore delivery teams
  • Budget ownership and business case development
  • Ability to deliver business readiness through policy, procedure, and training
  • Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness in customer and team interactions
