Application Services Manager

• Permanent role|1 or 2 days from office |Based in Sydney/Melbourne
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and vendor SLA governance
• Experience with Clinical and Practice Management Systems like MedicalDirector or Best Practice

Our client is looking for an Application Services Manager who will lead the delivery, performance, and strategic enhancement of core business applications across Medical, Dental, and corporate environments. This role drives operational stability, vendor performance, team capability, and service improvement initiatives, while aligning the application portfolio with business growth and digital transformation goals.

Key Skills Required:

• Experience with medical applications, particularly Clinical and Practice Management Systems such as MedicalDirector, Pracsoft, Dental 4 Windows, and Best Practice, including system upgrades, troubleshooting, data integrity management, and vendor coordination.
• Proven experience managing and optimising ServiceNow workflows and automations to improve operational efficiency, streamline incident and request management, and support consistent service delivery across healthcare applications.
• Proven experience managing a complex, multi-application environment including EMRs, ERP, and SaaS tools.
• Experience in owning operational relationships with key software vendors ensuring accountability, value for money, and adherence to SLAs.
• Experience in leading vendor transitions and manage contract performance to align with evolving business needs.
• Ensure that vendors meet compliance, escalation, and documentation obligations.
• Facilitate regular vendor reviews and performance assessments to ensure continuous service improvement.
• Experience in Waterfall and Agile methodologies and the tools to facilitate them (JIRA, MS Project).
• Track record of licensing oversight and budget accountability across major application platforms.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, SLA governance, and supporting transitions between providers.
• Experience in the healthcare industry highly regarded, especially through direct engagement with General Practitioners and clinical staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare-integrated systems and Australian healthcare compliance requirements highly regarded, including the management of PKI certificates, Site and Minor IDs, provider numbers, HPOS, HPI-O, and AIR access; with experience supporting compliant ePrescribing and Medicare billing aligned with My Health Record and secure messaging frameworks.
