Junior Linux Engineer

• 6 month contract with a view to extend| Based in Clayton, Melbourne

Our client is looking for Junior Linux Engineer who will be supporting and learning about computers with Linux-Based Operating Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Senior Linux/OT Remediation Engineer in their role of auditing physical IT assets on site.
• Auditing and Cataloguing physical IT assets on site.
• Assessment of build requirements on Windows and Linux endpoints.
• Remediation of Windows Endpoints.
• Remediation of Linux Endpoints.

Key Skills Required:

• Interested in supporting and learning about computers with Linux-Based Operating Systems.
• Ability to decipher and resolve IT problems.
• Experience with unique hardware peripherals.
• Demonstrated experience with hardware rollout efforts and projects (does not need to be commercial experience).
• Ability to adhere with best security practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills, possible customer service experience.
• Excellent communication skills in person and over various communication media.
• Strong time-management and self-administration habits.
• Strong trouble-shooting skillset especially with respect to Legacy Software and Hardware compatibility.
